How to brief me for a thumbnail

by v8e · September 1, 2026

Why does a complete brief get a quote the same day?

If you send the channel, the idea, a couple of refs, and the deadline in one message, I can look at it the same day and email a quote. Missing pieces mean I wait, or I chase you, and the quote slips. A complete brief gets a quote the same day. An incomplete one waits.

What do I send?

Four things.

  1. Channel link. So I can see the packaging you already have.
  2. Title or idea. Even rough. The concept drives the thumbnail more than the edit does.
  3. Two or three reference links. Other thumbnails, frames, moods. One line about each if you want.
  4. Deadline, if there is one. I'll tell you straight if I can't make it.

The request form asks for these. You can also email contact@v8evisuals.com.

How long does it take?

First draft in 24-48 hours if the brief is complete. I lock the timing when I quote. First draft isn't final. We change it until it earns the click.

How much does it cost?

A one-off thumbnail is usually $50-200 after I see the channel and the idea, and $50 is the floor. I quote before any work, nothing is owed until we agree, and long-term work is quoted the same way.

If you have those four things, request a thumbnail.
